International Tiger Day

International Tiger Day was started on July 29, 2010 to raise awareness for these endangered species. It was founded when 13 tiger range countries came together to create a goal of doubling the number of wild tiger populations worldwide (WWF Tiger Day, 2020). The goal is to double the tigers numbers in the wild to over 6,000 by 2022, because “doubling tigers is about tigers, about the whole of nature-and it’s also about us”- Marco Lambertini, Director General WWF (WWF Tiger Day, 2020). Add International Tiger Day to your calendar and make sure you raise awareness for these beautiful animals every July 29th.

Cause an UpRoar: Ways you can Help the Tiger

The Save The Vanishing Species stamp went on sale on September 20,2011 through the U.S. Postal Service (USPS, 2020). Since then the stamp has raised over $5,740,478 million for conservation projects (USPS, 2020). The stamps help rhinos, elephants, orangutans, sea turtles and of course tigers. Now the stamp is called Save Vanishing Species, but you can still purchase them and make an impact on conservation efforts. You can buy your own sheet of the Save Vanishing Species stamps.

Say no to owning a tiger as a pet and instead symbolically adopt a tiger, where you receive a stuffed animal tiger instead of a real tiger. The World Wildlife Fund has multiple adoption levels available so you can adopt your very own tiger while also supporting tigers in the wild.
