Dead end

Daniela Barbani is an artist in Los Angeles, whose artwork focuses on wildland-urban interface and society's effects on the wildlife. Her work combines screen printing and relief printmaking. Her Dead End project consists of 75/80 signs. Each sign is of a cougar in Los Angeles that has a radiocollar. Every time a cougar dies, the corresponding sign is flipped to commemorate the passing. The signs start with P-1 and go to P-80. the signs that show the cougar face, and number are cougars that have passed. The silver signs are of living cougars. Daniela says that this project is incomplete and will continue to be incomplete because it is ongoing as long as cougars are living in Los Angeles.
